Fire Protection Tanks

Coragated galvanized steel fire protection  tanks are among the most cost effective fire protection water storage available today.  They are also versatile being utilized as commercial fire protection tanks, industrial  fire protection tanks, municipal fire protection tanks, and agriculture fire protection tanks. They are shipped in kit form making them accesible to errect even in challanging locations. The CORGAL fire protection tanks are fitted with a geotextile preliner and a flexible membrane on the inside for water containment.

Structural

The steel structure materials used for CorGal tanks are hot-diped galvanized to a G-115 coating specification(350 grams/sq meter). The galvanized coating prevents oxidation of the steel base metal.  Heavier hot-dip galvanizing can also be provided

for special corrosive atmospheres. Each tank can be equiped with a preliner and flexible membrane which distributes the water load uniformly across the foundation area.. The foundation strength is engineered taking in account the tank and water weight, sub soil and site climatic conditions.

NFPA Codes (National Fire Protection Association)

A corgal tank may be installed for storage of water for fire protection per section 1.4 of NFPA 22.

The Corgal tank structure must be designed by a lisenced factory engineer in order to meet wind,

snow and seismic conditions listed for the project site.

A structural engineer must be engaged to design the foundation for the water storage tank for the specific installation site.

A fire protection engineer must be engaged to design the complete fire protection water storage system for the specific

installation site to comply with NFPA 22.

There is no requirment in NFPA 22 for the listing of any water storage tank. Product listings by associations are generally used for mass produced products that are not engineered for a particular application.
